International Museum Day 2017 at Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia on 18th May 2017

Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia would like to invite you to join us in the celebration of International Museum Day 2017 (IMD 2017) on 18th of May 2017, Thursday from 10 PM until 5.30 PM.

The theme of IMD 2017 is Museums and Contested Histories: Saying the Unspeakable in Museums.
This theme focuses on the role of museums that, by working to benefit society, become hubs for promoting peaceful relationships between people. It also highlights how the acceptance of a contested history is the first step in envisioning a shared future under the banner of reconciliation. Continue reading

The Tatars – Muslims in the Republic of Poland

Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur – Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) is pleased to announce the launching of our latest exhibition “The Tatars – Muslims in the Republic of Poland”. This exhibition which will be officially open to public on 11th April 2017 is a collaborative effort between the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur. In conjunction with the exhibition, a special lecture entitle ‘Islam and Relationship with the Muslim lands in Poland: A Short Historical Survey from 900 until current times’ will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Ataullah Bogdan Kopanski during the launching on 11th April 2017 at 3.00 pm.
